Gluten-Free Vegan Date Squares made with Oat Flour

My daughter, Katie, and I host a vegan cooking show on one of our local rogers t. v. stations. The show is called, Katie's Fresh Food Adventures. I have at least a few dozen recipes and have fallen in love with each and every single one of them Medjool dates are not available where I live, so I used dried pitted dates, which I soak in hot water for a bit to soften it. I always think a blog about you and your great and I'm so happy I stopped by today. To take care of. I used data because I wanted to try these bars in their purest form, raw, vegan and no added sugar. The crust had provided a wonderful texture with the crunchy oats, the nutty almonds, a hint of coconut and a slight sweetness from the dates. I followed her date bar recipe to add to fill of dark chocolate chips, cocoa powder and maple syrup, then after everything is together, I drizzle melted dark chocolate chips with coconut oil to the top of the bar. Also, we really like the addition of raisins in the crust instead of the date and it gives it an extra depth of flavor. A friend brought it to my house a couple of weeks, and there were fights over the crumbs:) I got them today, but ran out of dates (which is what I have ingredients for snacking on the recipe this week), so that the half of the dried apricots and half dates for the paste. It must be bland and tasteless, I told myself, but the more I eat, about the health benefits of raw and vegan, the more I'm inclined to try recipes like this. My new job requires eating too much to me away, and I fear that I used to get, in order to memorize larger parts over time without it. Thank you. Since we are in the process on many car rides, I love to take snacks, portable and fun for us on the road with us. Life has me in a pretty firm grip at the moment, my day-to-day stuff, the blogging much less. Assembly was very easy, thanks to the clear instructions, vegan and non-vegan friends alike, the end result loved. I bought my FIRST 2 pounds of Medjool dates this weekend, and was longing for a simply delicious way to use them; these squares last night.

If you are smart enough, you can sneak in as many vegetables as you like, and use them to add color or draw the facial features. Honestly, taste better than traditional date squares( which have tons of butter and brown sugar) I love this much healthier version. Tasty, healthy, and there were no Links at the end of the visit. ----- Thanks and regards Mike. I wanted to avoid that awkward moment of silence, while I try to explain to them why I grabbed a Tupperware full of mushy oats. A year old to me, climbed up on one of the chairs on the table, and found my way to the water melons and dived right in! They were perfect, I had a friend who is allergic to dairy, gluten and soy. (I used GF oats). Anyways, thank you for all the wonderful, healthy recipes. I make them often, because they are simple and everyone loves you:) I had thought a couple of dried apricots in my freezer, so I would throw in some with the dates. I could not hold my hands away from you so that I can bring on the end of it to work to share, so I wouldn't eat the whole pan.

Unfortunately, the last time I had them in the house, I was also training for a marathon, and can only say, appointments, and running don't really mix. 6 bathroom to do more later, I vowed to keep them in the house. I would be glad you to any potluck, since I'm sure whatever comes out of the kitchen, always delicious. I put five of my own ingredients this weekend and made Chocolate Chip Cookie dough raw - ice. I know the feeling! I still don't know to make a dare, a green monster, if there is someone else in the house:P. I will would work in any case, bookmark this recipe for a pot-luck-to-you, even if it's not the Breakfast. I also roasted grapes, you are transformed completely in terms of texture and taste, and if you haven't tried roasting grapes, you MUST. Almonds is the only ingredient that I miss:( I love all of your recipes and I ' m assuming this is a winner as well. I always find when I try to process the raw almonds in my food proccessor (baby Cuisinart) it is soo takes a long time and I almost catch the thing on fire. Mix with a sweetener (I have a couple of tablespoons of date paste, which is what you get when you simmer dates in water for 15min or so) and your favorite spices. In a food processor the almonds, salt and oats, process until a fine crumble forms. Now add the dates and process until crumbly again.
